Laundry and Sidmouth

A more relaxed day, starting with us doing some laundry in Okehampton. This gave Phil the opportunity to have a look at Okehampton Castle close up, but sadly too early in the morning to walk among the castle ruins themselves. The laundry was done quickly so we had plenty of time for coffee and cake in Okehampton this time.
We then headed off to Sidmouth on the Jurassic Coast, a beautiful Regency seaside resort. We wandered around Sidmouth for a while and Phil bought the most fantastic t-shirt he's ever come across. Another pub lunch followed - Petra tried their fish pie and thought it "Yummy! Delicious!". Why aren't there more pubs in Australia? Why don't we serve warm beer and fish pie?
After leaving Sidmouth we drove along the coast through Budleigh Salterton to Exmouth. By this time, even though it was relatively early, we decided we'd had enough of driving and headed back to the villa. So we had a restful afternoon and missed being out in the rain that's hit most of Britain today, and our place late in the afternoon. Luckily we didn't get much rain in Devon, and the sun was shining most of the day. The temperature has dropped considerably though, so we're sitting here tonight with a warm fire going.

  1. Actually I think you'll fine there are plenty of pubs in Australia. Just none in Duckburg. :)

  2. Probably very true. Problem in Australia is more that there aren't pubs every few miles along the road as you're travelling.
