When we were dropped off in Cardiff Bay (the upcoming trendy part of Cardiff) we went for a coffee (the best so far in Britain) at one of the swanky cafes there, and watched all the well-dressed people walk by. For anyone familiar with the TV show Torchwood, the cafe was also located within sight of the entrance to the Torchwood facility.
Having by that last sentence established our nerd credentials, we can confess that our next activity was a visit to The Doctor Who Experience. A great interactive show followed by a display of sets, costumes, props etc. from Doctor Who. Great gift shop too.
We then walked into the centre of Cardiff - only about a fifteen minute walk - and found a nice pub for our habitual pub lunch. We then looked around the shops and Cardiff Market, glanced casually at Cardiff Castle as we walked by and checked out one of the displays at the Cardiff Museum before Janet came and drove us back to our car.
Lots of traffic getting out of Cardiff, but otherwise a quick and easy trip back here. We seem to be getting used to driving here, but our sense of direction is awful. Good we have Jane the GPS with us.

Are you going to (or through) Hereford? Seems like the English and Welsh drivers are better-behaved than the Italians (and they drive on the correct side of the road).
ReplyDeleteHerefordshire tomorrow (Friday) on the way to the Cotswolds. A stop in Hereford is a definite possibility - the Cider Museum awaits!
