Next stop was Land's End. Tourists everywhere, and probably the busiest place we've been to so far. Funny when you consider it's really the middle of nowhere. Anyway, it was quite ruggedly beautiful, as expected, although the weather was colder with overcast skies and strong winds. Cornwall seems to have a different climate to Devon. It became foggy the further we got into Cornwall, but when we got back to Devon it was all sunshine again.
From Land's End we took a narrow country road (made all the more exciting by a German tour bus coming at us from the opposite direction at one of the narrowest points) to the Village of Zennor, where we had the obligatory pub lunch. Then on to St Ives, which was a nightmare of seaside resort tourists, narrow winding streets and Phil's nerves becoming frazzled (a consequence of the first two). We were glad to get out of there and back to the sanity of rural Devon.
A ten minute walk to our local pub rounded off the day nicely. We started chatting with a lady in the pub who gave us some great advice on things to do around Dartmoor and Exmoor, so we may change our plans for the next few days as a result.
